A short break in a beautiful Edinburgh Holiday Flat by Harry Worthington
If you are raring to go on a short break with your family or with your friends where you can capture the enchantment of Edinburgh City, stay in a beautiful Edinburgh Holiday Flat.
A suitable Edinburgh Holiday flat can be found easily, and many are located near the famous gardens where you can go on a picnic and experience the enchantment of fairy tale-like scenery with the majestic Edinburgh Castle hovering in the background. Along the gardens are famous statues and monuments of poets and explorers like David Livingstone. You will also find the Ross Fountain, and if your visit coincides with the world renowned Edinburgh Festivals and celebrations, the Ross Bandstand would be the place to go for the concerts. This side of the City known as the New Town is also packed with shops, pubs and restaurants where you can buy the famed Scottish tweed and tartan, get a good wash down of Scottish whisky, and get the taste of authentic Scottish cuisine. You can also enjoy the afternoon with Dundee cake and Scottish tea.
Most flat accommodation will include one or two double rooms with own toilet and bath. Master bedrooms will usually have a double size bed, and the rooms will be big enough to accommodate an extra mattress. You could even secure a flat with Cable TV and wi-fi access. Kitchens are generally equipped with all the necessities for cooking and dining. You will often find a washer and dryer are also available within the flat.
After exploring the New Town in its Georgian architectural splendor, prepare to go centuries down history and live through the reformation period and medieval ages that are beautifully preserved in the other part of the City known as the Old Town. Almost parallel to the Princes Street is the equally famous Royal Mile where at one end resting on top of an extinct volcano called Castle Rock, you will find the Edinburgh landmark which is the Edinburgh Castle. Towards the lower end of the Royal Mile running opposite the Edinburgh Castle is the Holyrood Palace. These two magnificent structures are classic works of art. Another impressive building is the St. Giles Cathedral. Just off the Royal Mile is the famous alley called Mary King’s Close where you get an authentic feel of an ordinary Scot during the medieval times. While walking around the Old Town, you will not miss a giant camera tower known as the Camera Obscura. Other attractions in the Old Town include the Tartan Weaving Mill and Exhibition, the Spirit of the Tatoo and the Edinburgh Museums, to name a few. A visit to Edinburgh is never complete without going to the famous Scotch Whisky Heritage Center.
There is nothing more exhilarating than exploring the historic wonders of Edinburgh, and capturing the magic in its entirety while staying at a beautiful Edinburgh Holiday Flat.
